Part-Time Accounts Assistant
£25,000 - £27,000 FTE
£10,000 - £10,800 pro rata

Our client is a not-for-profit organisation that develops and maintains global standards for business communication. They are based in the heart of the City and are looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their team on a part time basis, 2 days a week.


- Recording all new bank mandates accurately and submitting on a weekly basis using BACS software
- Inputting and allocating all customer payments
- To access and act on the BACS advices promptly, maintaining accurate Direct Debit records e.g. AUDDIS (Automated Direct Debit Instruction Service) reports, ARUDD (Automated Return of Unpaid Direct Debits) and all the other reports
- Preparing the monthly customer Direct Debit collection, ensuring that all payments collected are correctly recorded and contacting any customers with any DD issues
- Converting customer’s data to a Direct Debit payment method, including outstanding invoices, subscription records etc.
- Maintaining the customer DD records, ensuring all communications are accurately logged
- Dealing with ad hoc customer queries when required
- Reviewing the customer subscription data for any errors prior to the monthly renewal invoices being issued
- Reviewing and assisting with the tickets in the company CRM system
- Issuing quotes for each months membership renewals
- Ensuring that all supplier invoices/statements are stamped and added to the AP folder, invoices are coded, scanned and registered, and all paperwork is filed away
- Reconciling all supplier statements, highlighting any issues to the Accounts Payable clerk
- Project work as advised by CFO or Finance Manager


- Previous experience in a similar finance role
- Good understanding of basic book keeping
- A professional accounting qualification – ACA, ACCA, AAT is desired but not essential
- Confident and competent individual, who enjoys new challenges
- Determined and task-orientated
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work on own initiative and stick to deadlines
- Good people skills with the ability to also work as a team player
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Highly motivated and innovative individual
- Highly competent in the use of Microsoft Office and working knowledge of accounting and CRM systems
