In this key role at the frontline of our business, you’ll manage a team of both managerial and frontline staff, ensuring the operation, delivering mail to over 29 million addresses in the UK, is running as efficiently as possible.

About the role

As an operational manager, assuming overall accountability for the Cambridge Delivery Office and other smaller delivery offices you’ll lead a team of 7 direct reports and approximately 350 employees overall supporting them through our exciting transformation journey. Working closely alongside trade union representatives, you’ll ensure your team understands the commercial and competitive market we are in. They’ll need to be customer focussed, open to new technology and flexible to change. Utilising your first-rate change management experience, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the performance of your unit and for meeting the budgetary targets of the unit, quality of service for our customers and the overall safety of the people you manage.  

You will be the prime representative for your office and actively promote customer service opportunities whilst having a strong track record of delivering performance through your personal leadership of large teams in a changing operational environment.

Working Hours: Monday – Saturday with a rotating day off, 7am – 3pm but must be flexible due to business needs
