New Business Development Executive

With over 100 years’ experience in European rail travel, Voyages-sncf.com is able to assist travellers in planning their journey, from a simple London to Paris trip to longer more complicated routes using high speed, regional, scenic and even car carrying trains.
We are looking for a New Business Development Executive to join our friendly team on a fixed term contract for 9 months starting ASAP. At the end of the 9 months it will be reviewed again to see if the role has the potential to become permanent.
This is an excellent entry level opportunity for a self-motivated, sales driven person to get into an external sales role. It would be based in Maidstone although once a thorough induction has been completed it would be envisaged that you will be "on the road" around 4 days per week and able to work from home or the office when admin days are required. Whilst necessary to be within reasonable reach of the office there is no need for you to be local. You could be as far as 40 miles or so West or North and maybe a bit closer if East or South of Maidstone.
You will be the lead acquisition for new accounts across all relevant sectors - online and offline: retail, business travel, tour operators, groups, inbound, MICE etc.
You will promote and develop sales of the company’s products through an agreed sales plan using all available distribution channels.
You will be responsible for acquiring and developing new leads, securing new business and identifying opportunities for growth by identifying new customers, generating leads & qualifying prospects.You will grow sales in line with agreed sales plan. (Where appropriate pass on leads to senior sales managers to progress and bring to market)
Other responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Achieve agreed sales targets.
Deliver excellent customer service to our trade partners
Produce sales reports for Head of Trade Sales including sales activity, market feedback and competitor intelligence
Communicate with trade partners and develop relationships to increase sales
Identify and resolve any client issues or concerns
Confidently communicate new products and system enhancements
Deliver training sessions to trade customers on company products and systems
Represent the company at events, exhibitions, conferences etc
Attend travel functions/meetings with the field sales team and be prepared to stay away from home for both UK and European Sales events.
The salary is £21,000 - £23,000 with excellent benefits and a company car.
