Human Capital Ventures are proud to be recruiting on behalf of a Leading Insurance Group for a 2nd Line Deskside Support Engineer to provide dedicated support to VIP’s and End Users throughout the business across multiple operating systems, business applications and associated technology at their prestigious offices located in Central London.

The successful candidate will be dealing with support issues from first contact through to closure along with providing BAU systems administration and supporting the business on project based requirements encompassing:
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems for end user PCs
• Deployment of new desktops and laptops and setup of handheld devices
• Provide networking assistance to users, including help with network connections and passwords
• Ensure that Windows-based workstations comply with established policies, standards, licensing agreements, and configuration guidelines
• Active Directory user administration including adding, modifying, and disabling of accounts per company policy
• Perform system backups and recovery procedures to ensure full data retrieval
• Maintain all printers in the network
• Detect and remove viruses and other malware
• Recommend and execute modifications to Windows systems in order to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance
• Establish and implement policies, procedures, and technologies to ensure Windows system security
• Review and deploy new Windows service packs, hot fixes, system updates, and vendor-supplied patches according to best practices
• Develop and maintain Windows training materials and systems documentation for educating end users and new IT staff
• Performs installation, training, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of desktop technology hardware and software
• Assists in the setup and operation of audio visual hardware as required by end user
• Determines appropriate hardware and software based on corporate policy and end user requirements
• Responds to incidents within SLA or within a timely manner with appropriate level of urgency, and follows up with customers on all issues

Candidates will ideally:
• Degree educated in a related IT discipline
• Possess two years’ commercial experience providing IT support at Deskside
• Hold formal Microsoft certifications (i.e. MSCDT, MCP, MCSE)
• Good around technical knowledge of operating systems, software, hardware and Networks
• Have excellent communication and presentation skills

This position is offering a basic salary of between £28,000 - £35,000 per annum with excellent benefits package and long-term progression.
