Healthcare Communications Intern

An exciting opportunity has come up for two creative life sciences graduates to join an internship at a healthcare communications agency based in Battersea. This is a 12 week, full time graduate opportunity.

The Company

We specialise in creating a range of materials, mostly for the pharmaceutical industry. This includes websites, apps, promotional materials, films, animations, advertising, patient educational materials and support programmes.

The Role

The successful intern will work on a variety of promotional materials, which could range from life-saving drugs to self-care over-the-counter medicines. You will learn how concepts become printed or digital materials created and receive full training, both conventional and practical.

This is a challenging role that will allow you to expand your knowledge of health and medicine whilst getting your foot in the door of the competitive healthcare communications industry. If the 3-month internship is successfully completed, the candidate will be offered a full-time training contract.

Training will include codes of practice, and, as promotional materials must be engaging, you will be coached on understanding the importance of creativity, visuals and tactics in healthcare communications. You will be guided in writing for business, researching evidence and understanding health audiences.

Most previous interns have gone on to be employed by the agency, so the company are looking for candidates who are genuinely interested in a career within healthcare communications.

The Candidate

You expect to gain a minimum of a 2:1 degree from a Life Sciences background.

Successful candidates will show a balance of scientific competency and creativity. It is critical that candidates can demonstrate an active interest in creativity. This may be through their passion for art, a love of literature, music, writing for pleasure or some other creative channel.

Competency with Microsoft Office is essential and you must have at least an A in GCSE English.

Prior experience in a similar role is not necessary, but strong work ethic, both academically and commercially, is vital.
