U to £75k base plus £7.5k car allowance and bonus/commission

Role Description

This role is for an energetic and enthusiastic leader to run the strategically important Pre-Sales and Bid Management function where you will take responsibility for a team of pre-sales and bid management consultants.

The team are tasked with the creation of compelling solutions and bids based upon engaging client interaction, innovation and thought leadership. This role lends itself to a candidate that thrives on achievement and wanting out outperform the competition.

The role is pivotal to the future growth of the company so we are therefore looking for an exceptional candidate with experience and a proven ability in successfully managing a pre-sales team. Someone that understands how to develop and create competitive advantage, and has a structured approach to win new business consistent with our strategic goals.

This is an exciting time for us, as we open opportunities in new markets, alongside the commanding position we have in our established markets, where we have significant market share. The successful candidate will lead a team of pre-sales and bid management professionals and will work on opportunities that will range between £200k to >£10m.

The successful candidate will be managing a team of 7-8 professionals, so proven experience, strategic thinking and innovation are core to this role, and as a part of our company you will be working for one of the UK’s largest software development houses, and most successful professional services organisations.

Job Purpose
• Lead team responsible for pre-sales consultation, demonstrations and presentations to new and existing clients
• Provide leadership to ensure solutions are competitive, compelling and differentiated for the market vertical
• Ability to develop market awareness for software and service solutions – including pricing benchmarks and price-to-win
• Work with stakeholders to convert bid strategies into compliant, winning bids for learning and development solutions
• Utilisation of bid/tender/proposal strategies/tools/methodologies that deliver winning bids
• Effectively manage the performance and development of all direct reports
• Oversee maintenance, development and evolution of the bid library
• Establish effective reporting and analyse performance metrics for the function
• Develop innovative ways to convey the proposition to our clients
Qualifications & Experience

Qualifications

Ideally Degree educated, although this is not essential.

Experience

• Proven track record of success
• 5+ years of leading presales and bid teams
• Experience designing and articulating solutions
• Previous experience in a solution development environment
• Development and mentoring capability
• Understanding of proposal and sales methodologies (preferably Shipley and Altify/TAS)
• Aptitude to learn, create and develop within the role – personal capability
• Knowledge of the Private and Public Sectors
• Previous experience of financial solutions in the private sector would be an advantage
