We are looking for a Sales Leader with industry experience within Retail, Travel and Automotive Sectors who will lead a team to deliver growth in this key vertical for the our client which will be achieved by managing a team of direct reports, focussing on expansion within existing accounts as well as acquiring new accounts. At the cutting edge of data driven advertising this is an exciting area with significant opportunity for growth. You will be a driven, determined and successful individual with proven sales track record together and a good level of understanding of the Data / Insight / Advertising / and Marketing Database & SCV market place. You will have experience within at least one of the focus verticals i.e. Retail, Travel or Automotive. Within the role you will be expected to create and execute a sales plan within the overall business strategic plan. You will be personally accountable for delivery of revenue targets and other market/client focused objectives for the Retail, Travel and Automotive vertical. You will be expected to contribute significantly to proposition development and innovation in response to market and client demand. Additionally, you will be required to support the relationship management of key suppliers and key sector partners.
You will have a strong input to overall Targeting sales strategy and management as member of the Targeting Sales management team. You will be responsible for driving sales effectiveness across a wide range of clients including large complex relationships. To meet this requirement, you will be recognised as a role model in many areas of sales leadership and you will take a hands-on approach to supporting development of large accounts and key deals. Level of approximate responsibility
Approximately Circa £15-20m annual revenue responsibility.
Responsible for driving year on year growth for the vertical
Responsible for management/monitoring of all vertical sales activities and performance levels that will ensure budget are attained / exceeded
Typically 7-10 Direct reports - all sole contributors. As a senior member of the sales management team the expectation is this role will act as a role model for other members of the team in terms of subject matter knowledge, sales execution, work ethic, territory and account planning, application of sales governance and general professional conduct. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Achieve overall business goals and objectives in sales and new business development for the assigned vertical.
Ensuring that overall objectives are translated into specific plans and targets as appropriate; developing and managing the sales pipeline
Identifying business opportunities (both short term and long term), ensuring that the sales pipeline is consistently maintained
Review all activity against strategic objectives of Investing in the Core, Innovating in Digital and Respecting the Consumer
Provide Accurate and Timely Sales Forecasting and Planning Processes
Providing your manager with timely reports and analyses on sales performance
Qualifications: • Degree level, preferably in a management subject Experience & Knowledge: Experience • Proven and successful sales management experience - ideally where sales values and complexity is similar level • Strong knowledge of Marketing Insight and Data, Analytics, Digital Marketing • Strong knowledge of and contacts within at least one of the key verticals • High level of commercial awareness - identifying opportunities, structuring a deal, negotiating and closing sales. • Proven ability to deliver consistent results against financial targets over an extended period of time • Proven background in selling / developing business • Ability to perform under pressure in a competitive environment • High personal drive and ability to influence internally and externally • The ability to forecast accurately and consistently • Able to build relationships and vision with clients at all levels including C level as well as internal stakeholders • Ideally trained with a recognised sales methodology • Strong communication, 'solutioneering’, presentation and time management skills.
