A leader in shipping of furniture and personal effects is looking for a Baggage Sales Consultant to join their team in Croydon on a permanent basis. You will be assisting the removals manager in every aspect of the removals department.

This is an amazing opportunity for a dynamic, self-motivated, articulate and well-presented individual to play a pivotal role in the Company's continuing growth. You will have excellent geographical knowledge of two of their largest markets Australia and New Zealand; you may have lived or worked there, giving you first-hand experience of their culture. You will have a proven track record of working in a fast moving sales environment with the ability to work to tight deadlines and secure the sale. You will have strong numeracy and literacy skills and the ability to recognise an opportunity.


  • Assisting with customer service activities with reference to removals clients
  • Ensuring surveys are carried out in accordance to arrangements with clients
  • Ensuring all survey appointments are confirmed in writing and entered into the surveyor diary
  • Issuing all quotations within the maximum 48 hour of survey or enquiry
  • Offering all customers standard liability
  • Costing all removals including ensuring all sufficient profitability for each job
  • Ensuring receipts of customer acceptance either in the form of shipping instructions or other written confirmation
  • Liaising with customers on operational matters including confirming job schedules, timing and accessibility of collection and delivery address
  • Forwarding correct information to the forwarding department regarding each move
  • Issuing invoices in a timely manner including ensuring payment is received within the terms of contract
  • Entering all necessary information onto the computer system
  • Issuing up-to-date country guides and information sheets where appropriate and ensuring sufficient stock is kept
  • Adhering to departmental and other relevant procedures
  • Assisting other staff within in the team as required
  • Notifying the manager of any issues which may enhance or affect the company's performance
  • Answering all department phone calls before five rings and connecting to the appropriate contact within a minute
  • Representing the company as and when required
  • Maintaining confidentiality at all times
  • Complying with the Health and Safety Legislation and Policy
  • Complying with the Environmental Policy
  • Ad-hoc duties as requested
