CAS Behavioural Health is a leading provider of Specialist Adult Services in the UK including; Mental Health, Learning Disability, Acquired Brain Injury, Autism and Personality Disorder. We work in close partnership with the National Health Service and have a real emphasis on intensive psychiatric rehabilitation, providing patients with a step-by-step programme to return to the community or suitable long-term placement.

We are in an exciting position where we are opening a brand new site in October 2017, Brunel Hospital in Bristol - a 32-bedded unit (consisting of 22 rehabilitation beds and 10 neuro degenerative beds). The hospital will provide a neuropsychiatric service to individuals with brain injuries, organic brain disorders and degenerative conditions who require specialist therapy-led rehabilitation and support.

The Opportunity

As a Consultant Neuropsychiatrist you will provide psychiatric care to adult / female patients (aged 18+) within the hospital. You will be responsible for the clinical supervision of middle grade doctors and auditing the medical services rendered at the hospitals, ensuring their good quality in accordance to GMC and other relevant professional guidelines. You will streamline and manage admissions and discharges for the most efficient use of the beds at the hospital. A key part of this role will also be to liaise with local GP and general hospitals to address and manage inpatients` health most effectively.

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate for this role will have recent experience at a senior level in adult psychiatry, ideally within neuropsychiatry / managing acquired brain injury / rehabilitation and/or forensic psychiatry.

You will be GMC registered, a recognised approved clinician and have MRCPsych or equivalent.

Knowledge of current rehabilitation principles and practices, English Mental Health Legislation and risk assessment/management is essential.

You will have excellent communication skills and ability to lead a multidisciplinary team. Above all, you will be someone with a genuine desire to help others.
