Lana Premadasa is recruiting for a Trainee Product Sales Specialist to join a world leader in microplate reading technology within the life sciences and biotechnology sector based in Central London on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be working in the UK Sales, Service and Marketing division. The salary will be £20,000 - £24,000 per annum with uncapped quarterly commission.

The main purpose of the role will be to assist the Senior Product Sales Specialist with supporting prospects and customers in the life sciences market throughout London through:
- Provisioning of sales and support for the company's multimode microplate readers, and subsequent servicing options.
- Working with existing customers to develop application notes for scientific publications.
- Meeting agreed sales targets.
- Lead generation through telephone, in person and following up of leads from the internet, exhibitions and customer referrals.
- Providing applications support for Fluorescence, Luminescence and Absorbance assays developed using company technology in conjunction with the technical support / applications team.

Further responsibilities will include:
- Customer training on all company products including refresher training as required.
- Maintaining and updating customer relationship database within the area.
- Maintenance and development of customer base through organised account management.
- Software support (using both in house and Windows based programmes such as Excel)

In order to be considered for this role, you will be required to have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
- A degree (or equivalent) in life sciences (such as Molecular Biology or Cell Biology) or a related scientific discipline.
- Worked previously in a customer facing environment.
- Excellent customer service skills or strong laboratory experience.
- A full UK driving license
- Resilience and ability to cope with rejection
- Ability to work well in a team environment, but also be strongly self-motivated with an outgoing and confident personality and excellent technical communication skills.

Commercial awareness and communication skills are more important than previous experience as full support and training will be given.
