Digital Application Support Engineer (Banking - Savings) – c£45K + Benefits – Manchester

Our client is looking for a Digital Application Support Specialist. They are looking for an individual to take responsibility for supporting all of the web based apps on their external facing portals. You will have come from a mixed Linux / Windows environment and be able to demonstrate high levels of expertise across both platforms.

You must have great experience with handling SSL Certificates; from creating Self-Certs to requesting and implementing SSL Certs from the relevant issuing authorities. As you will be responsible for the web facing portals you will need to have an excellent understanding of how the underlying infrastructure works, including both internal and external DNS as well as being able to understand and define WAF security.

You will be expected to input into and create design documentation as well as advising the Enterprise Architecture teams; in essence, you will be the Digital Application SME for our client.

Role

This role will be 1st point of contact during Incident Management and will perform triage to determine whether the resolution can be achieved through application functionality and user support or if more technical management is required. Small issues will need to be progressed through the project pipelines and in the case of further investigation the candidate will take ownership of the problem and perform technical analysis, in order to ascertain the root cause and solution.

Solutions may need to be provided by working alongside the project team within the digital space as well as third party suppliers. Throughout the course of the incident they are expected to carry out appropriate levels of documentation and communication. Where they are unable to find a solution they are expected to liaise with vendor 3rd line support in order to come to a final solution. Other responsibilities include aspects of Release Management & Deployments, Configuration Management, Knowledge Management and Technical Management.

Experience

Proficiency level: Strong technically experienced professional with a minimum of 4-5 years of Application Support / Development experience.
Educated to degree level or equivalent
