Job Title: Human Resources Apprentice

Responsible To:Head of People and Talent

Job Grade 1

Summary of main responsibilities To work in partnership with the HR & Development Support Officer.

To provide an effective day to day administrative HR support service to all business areas.

Support the HR, Recruitment and internal Training Team.
Principle accountabilities:

•Manage the Babington Group Employee Records and related Documents.

•Manage the hr email in box escalating queries as required

•Support with Induction Process:

-Assist in the recruitment and induction process from offer letter through to joining instructions, preparing and processing inductions.

-Administer, update and process HR information including holiday, absence, performance review, DBS, own/company vehicle documentation, personal details, offer letters to maintain accurate records.

-Scanning of certificates and uploading to files/send to quality.

-Chase ID for new starters

•Annual leave / Sickness Leave Records:

-Recording of annual leave requests, sickness absence and queries.

-Administer the probationary 1 to 1 deadlines, review periods and induction evaluation.

-Track and chase submission of sick notes, return to work interviews.

•Provide recruitment administration support.

•Assist in the administration/communication of HR policies and procedures.

-Issue group policy amendments and track receipts and signed acknowledgments.

•Payroll / Starters / Leavers:
-Maintain accuracy of payroll information.
-Manage the leaver administration process including leaver forms.
-Maintain and update the group organisational structure charts.
-Print and post standard HR documents.
-Process leavers and exit interviews.
•Maintain and develop the personnel filing system.
•Assist in the development and population of HR systems.

Contribute to ad hoc and on-going HR projects as directed by the Head of People & Talent.


The post holder must maintain the confidentiality of information about clients, staff and other Babington Group stakeholders. Some work is of a confidential nature and information gained must not be communicated to other persons except in the recognised course of duty. The post holder must meet the requirements of the Data Protection Act at all times.
