My client are a top tier institutional college/university, who are currently hiring an enthusiastic and knowledgeable HR Officer to join their ever growing team.

Job Purpose is to provide an effective and efficient HR function and support.
Key responsibilities:

All aspects in Human Resource Function of Employee Life Cycle.
Recruitment and Selection.
 Review all job application and shortlist suitable candidates.
 Coordinate and participate in the job interview process, ensuring that equal recruitment procedure is in place.
On-boarding and Induction
 Prepare and send offer letters.
 Undertake induction process for new staff.
 Manage contract for employment and for contractors/ sole traders.
 Reconcile staff attendance records using time recording system every month and make the final decision on staff working hours and actual number of hours worked in the month.
 Liaise with payroll (Finance Officer) provider and regarding staff salaries, invoices and other payments.
 Manage the Payroll Master sheet and submit the time and attendance report to payroll (Finance Officer).
 Calculate Holiday entitlement of each employees and inform employees about their entitlement.
Learning and Development
 Identifying training and development needs for the staff and take action (HR related).
 Support the training and development of management in sickness absence and performance management.
 Ensure an accurate record is kept of training undertaken by staff and checking staff do not exceed, or fail to reach, any training requirements (CPD records).

Performance Appraisal
 Prepare and organise the Staff Annual appraisals.
 Assist Managers in employee performance management process and advise managers on performance related issues.

HR Database and Reporting
 Handling incoming phone calls and respond to quires in a timely manner.
 Oversee the maintenance of all HR files including the compliance of UKVI requirements and UKVI guidelines in preventing illegal immigration and employment.
 Be responsible for accurate data about staff immigration status and Tier 2 management.
 Manage the HR Staff Management System (SMS).
 Maintaining Staff Portal and ensuring all documents are up to date including policies and procedures.
 Monitor Time and attendance of employees in Luton and Birmingham campuses as well as London, using Opentimeclock.
Advice and Guidance/ Employee Relations
 Work closely with management to support all people related queries.
 Provide advice and support with any employee relations issues and manage cases effectively and efficiently, ensuring proper compliance with Employment Law.
 Contribute to the resolution of employee relations including attendance and formal meetings, in both note taking and advisory capacity.
 Facilitate employee complaints, grievances, conflict resolutions/mediation and investigations.
 Providing references of employment on request.
 Liaise with legal advisors (Ellis Whittam, Croner Simplify) in employee relations cases.
 Ensure that all HR systems and procedures promote good morale and well-being.
Other Duties

 Develop, implement and maintain HR Documents (Staff Handbook, letters and other HR Documents) and ensure compliance with HR legislation.
 Participate in Management and external body meetings related to staff and HR matters.
 Work closely with the Head of Legal team to review policies and procedures.
 Revise HR Policies and Procedures and make recommendations to the Management Board.
