We are seeking an experienced FABRICATION SHOP MANAGER for a successful privately owned Fabrication business based in WOLVERHAMPTON specializing in the production and installation of structural steel sections and decorative metal fabrications such as gates, fencing, balustrades and staircases for a wide range of industrial & commercial customers.

They are offering an hourly rate in the region of £12 – £15 per hour depending on experience, working a typical 50 hour working week.

As the FABRICATION SHOP MANAGER your duties & responsibilities will include:
• Managing a team of 10 fabricators & welders
• Hands on fabrication of structural steel sections & decorative structural fabrications
• Planning work load & labour to achieve production targets
• Ensure quality & accuracy of fabrication work
• Maintain safe working practices
• Manage consumable stores

To become the successful FABRICATION SHOP MANAGER you will need to display the following key skills & experience:
• Managing teams of skilled welders & fabricators
• Hands on welding & fabrication skills (tig & mig)
• Planning & juggling resources to meet the production plan
• Working to CE Marking related proceedures
• Problem solving skills
• Structural steel & decorative Fabrications
• Reading & working to engineering drawings
• Working with creativity & initiative
