Excellent opportunity for a Learning and Development Specialist to join a global leader in drilling services, on a 6-9 month contract basis in London. Our client provides a range of multi-disciplinary services for on and offshore oil and gas projects, and have extensive experience working in harsh environments, remote areas and deep water. This would be the ideal opportunity for an experienced Learning and Development Specialist to join a reputable company, and gain valuable career experience within the engineering energy sector.

The selected candidate will have a variety of roles and responsibilities, including:

* Ensuring each employee receives a Performance Evaluation from his/her manager, and that a development plan is produced from this
* Carrying out annual training gap/needs analysis and hold discussions with managers to develop a training plan relating to the business objectives and agreed budgets
* Sourcing internal and external providers to deliver agreed training and development needs in accordance with budgetary controls
* Forming close relationships with universities and informing them about the Graduate Training Scheme for students
* Forming relationships with engineering and other institutions with the aim of providing the company with recruitment support, training and development of staff, as well as publicising and promoting the company's profile within the industry and UK

Essential skills, experience and attributes:

* Degree qualified or equivalent in relevant subject
* Extensive experience within a similar role
* Good organisational skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritise workloads
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills for liaising with a variety of stakeholders
* Proficient analytical and numerical skills
* Experience building strong relationships
