An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Automation Engineer with project based experience to join a well established process control and automation consultancy in the North West. Working for a leading consultancy within multiple industries, this is an exciting time to join this leading organisation as they consolidate their position within the market.

The client is privately owned and multi-faceted in their approach to working on client projects across the UK. With key contracts across industries such as Water, FMCG, Pharmaceutical and Utilities they are seeking a senior level candidate to pick up key projects and client accounts. With five locations across the UK, they are a successful and sustainable business who want to expand their team with high potential individuals.

The Senior Automation Engineer will report into the Managing Director and work as part of a wider team to help deliver projects across a wide range of industries using both project skills and emerging technologies.  You will typically be operating under nominal supervision thus in depth understanding of Automation Engineering is essential.

Key duties associated with this role will include:

- The technical development of design documentation,
- Configuration of PLCs, SCADAs, HMI, Testing and commissioning.
- Control system software design and documentation and hardware design.
- Report writing and surveying of client facilities to mark out the scope of installations and working to bespoke specifications.
- Factory acceptance test specification documentation.
- The generation of risk assessments and method statements.
- On site installation, testing and process commissioning.

The Senior Automation Engineer will have:

- A degree in a relevant Engineering related subject – with membership of the relevant bodies.
- An understanding of the project lifecycle from concept through to completion.
- Experience in the Water industry would be advantageous.
- Electrical control panel design would be beneficial but not essential.
- Excellent leadership, communication and team working skills to develop strong working relationships quickly
- An understanding of mechanical and process engineering would be desirable
