Process Engineer - LEAN - Materials - Manufacturing - Cambs - c.£40k

Due to continued growth a materials manufacturer require a number of Process Engineers to join the team. Your role will be to optimise the processes for current and new product to ensure process capability and reduce waste and improve throughput. You must have proven hands-on process engineering experience.

Main Responsibilities

* Improve efficiency and throughput by reducing cycle time and work in progress.
* Ensuring process capability in conjunction with the local quality engineer.
* Support and contribute to the introduction of process control and generation of the foundational documents such as process maps, Cause & Effect Matrix, PFMEA's, Control Plans and Control Charts.
* Monitor and manage processes via implemented process controls.
* Reduce process waste.
* Reduce change over times.
* Reviewing and generating work instructions and standard operating procedures.
* Generate, coordinate and report on trials to develop the processes.
* Work closely with the Technical department developing new product and processes.
* Support New Product Introduction projects.
* Support New Plant Introduction projects.
* Assist in operator training were required.

Experience and Skills:

* Proven experience preferred over education.
* Significant experience in Process Engineer role
* Strong problem solving ability - Root cause analysis, Design of Experiments etc.
* Statistical analysis
* Knowledge of lean manufacturing, principles and tools
* Ability to self-manage
* Customer focused
* Ability to work as part of a team or individually
* Ability to read engineering drawings and understand geometric tolerances
* Ability to complete risk assessments
* PC Skills - MS Office, Minitab (or similar)
* 6 Sigma (preferred)
* Project management (preferred)
* New plant introduction experience (preferred)
* New product introduction experience (preferred)
* Process modelling / simulation (preferred)


* Minimum HNC / HND, degree preferred
