Quality Inspector Team Leader

My client is looking for a Quality Inspector to join their face paced Quality department who work over 3 shifts providing a 24-hour service to the Manufacturing Operations team. Your role of Inspection Team Leader will be responsible for continually improving the company's quality and standards.

Through a combination of solving inspection problems, avoiding inspection problems and strong leadership skills you will take this already high performing inspection team to the next level.

Quality Inspector Accountability / Key Responsibilities
Key skills and challenges include:
* Metrology / materials background in a precision machining environment are essential skills
* Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerances and related inspection practices
* Must have strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with other functional areas as follows:
* Operations, Design Engineering, Purchasing and Inventory Control, Scheduling, and Shipping/Receiving
* Knowledge of methodologies such as Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizan and root cause analysis techniques will be beneficial
* Have a strong inspection discipline, being familiar with Aerospace and Automotive standards
* Be a leader who can inspire both their team and colleagues who they work with to deliver first class quality

In order to be successful, you will be able to demonstrate:

Quality Inspector - Must Have
* The ability to understand a customer's quality expectations and convert that into a practicable inspection plan
* A good balance between diplomacy and fortitude
* The skills to be able to inspect components that have been processed through:
* Turning, 5 axis milling, gear cutting, heat treatment, grinding and gear grinding
Quality Inspector - Should Have
* An ability to deal with client and team situations coupled with an ability to accept and positively respond to frequent changes
* Proven interpersonal and communication skills at all levels
* Credibility in a wide range of customer and supplier situations
* An ability to work under pressure and very tight timescales
* A practical Engineering background obtained through either an apprenticeship or working within a machine shop environment
