New Model Engineer (Weld)

A unique and interesting opportunity has become available for a Weld New Model Engineer to work with a globally renowned, important Automotive Manufacturing company who are at the technological forefront of their field.
You will be primarily responsible for assessing the requirements for revised equipment layouts, equipment modification and replacement utilising sound engineering principles.
This role will include Project Management, development of engineering solutions, creating and managing project plans and budget control.

As Weld New Model Engineer you will be in a position to come up with innovative and unique solutions to problems which will have a direct impact on company performance, working within a uniquely interesting environment where you will be exposed to a wide and diverse range of engineering challenges. The experience gained within this role will place you in a position which could lead to further career opportunities.

Main responsibilities:

* Investigating and establishing the requirements for modification and replacement of manufacturing equipment within the weld department
* Develop layouts and engineering proposals to enable the efficient manufacture of new model
* Leading the design review process to ensure customer requirements are realised to meet quality, delivery and safety targets
* Creating project manufacturing control plans
* Sourcing of suppliers to provide new equipment or modifications to existing equipment
* Developing project manufacturing control plans and managing budgets
* Creating detailed specifications to define costs and obtain approvals for various committees
* Support during the implementation phase of the project into mass production

To be considered for the position of Weld New Model Engineer you must have:

* An understanding of 'Body in White' process and flows
* Understanding for CATIA and CAD packages
* Educated to a minimum of HNC level in an engineering discipline
* Experience in working through the project life cycle

If you possess any of the following it would be an advantage:

* A good technical reporting ability
* Ability to create and deliver technical presentations
* Experience of working within the Automotive industry
* Proven experience within a new model area

No two days are the same and you will need to be able to react and change priorities at very little notice. The ability to self-manage your workload is essential. Strong communication skills are a must have as and you will need to be pressure across multiple projects, often under significant delivery pressure.
