This is a truly exceptional opportunity for a bright and ambitious Systems & Hardware engineer to join the product development team of a highly respected international market leader. Based in Bury and reporting directly to the Chief Engineer, you will be encouraged to become the best you can be. You will be university educated with a degree in a relevant Engineering subject or highly quantitative field, have a good understanding of system level electronics and electronics validation, and be involved in the technical coordination of multidisciplinary projects from pre-sales through to delivery, interpreting customer and product specifications, writing thorough technical specifications, authoring and managing system requirements, hardware system design and documentation, and developing testing and validation strategies.

Joining a diverse team of 10 talented engineers, the successful applicant will have:

• Proven background in high pressured, time critical customer facing Systems or Project Engineering roles
• Understanding of electronic product development
• Strong background in requirements capture and management processes
• Strong background in testing electronic devices and software systems
• Ability to manage, work and deliver work outside of core domain
• Confident in making decisions and taking responsibility for delivery
• Proficient with common software products (e.g. MS Office, Project, Visio etc) for daily activities
• Familiarity with software and hardware development, for example, Agile methodologies and the product development V-Model
• Ability to produce formal documentation to a very high standard
• Organised, systematic, and understand the process of fault finding
• Analysis skills; FMEAs, tolerance analysis, reliability analysis etc.
• EMC standards and design
Experience of ISO 26262 for functional safety of road vehicles or BS EN 50129:2003 Railway applications would be advantageous but not essential.
