Techniche Global are supporting a Medical Device firm with appointing a new Regional Technical Support Engineer.

The role will be to cover Northern England and can consider candidates based anywhere along the M62 corridor (Liverpool to Hull).

The Role

Working within the Technical Services team, to ensure the timely provision of a service support function, including training, documentation support, (Instruction Manuals, PM Schedules, Parts Lists & Service Manuals) and implementation of service contracts for all products either supplied or supported by the business.

Main Duties

• To support the introduction of new/existing 3rd Party products into the Service portfolio.
• To maintain a technical documentation library & master files for technical documentation in relation to all products and any OEM products supplied or maintained by business. and associated Companies
• To provide detailed technical product and service training to all service/operations personnel, maintaining appropriate training records.
• To liaise with suppliers for data gathering and collection required for technical support and documentation compilation.
• Responsible for the communication and issue of new or updated technical/support documentation & any associated training requirements.
• To assist with 3rd Party product audits/assessments as a prelude to offering service contracts.
• To provide back-up support to the service/operations & sales teams for the provision of technical support enquiries for products supported/maintained by the Company.
• To assist with the formulation and distribution of Technical Bulletins in relation to product or part updates/modifications or advising service protocol changes following complaints investigations etc.
• To undertake any technical or commercial investigations necessary to ensure that all customer enquiries or complaints are dealt with promptly and efficiently.
• To maintain an up to date knowledge of company and other associated products, including third party equipment, service methodologies and techniques, current Health & Safety and associated standards necessary to provide effective and efficient technical support function.
• To provide support & guidance on spare parts requirements ensuring van stock levels are adequately maintained within agreed levels with management to meet agreed work programs and to cater for the product populations.
• To ensure all company policies and procedures are maintained and adhered to.
• To maintain the Company Vehicle provided to a high standard of cleanliness and responsible for the regular maintenance and upkeep in accordance with Company policy.

Skills / Qualifications / Knowledge
• Knowledge of electro-mechanical equipment.
• Knowledge and experience in a field based service role.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers at all levels
• Good geographical knowledge of the territory

• Experienced with training others on Technical products.
• Working unsupervised within a field based role or service centre environment
• Ability to problem solve on electro-mechanical equipment.
• Ability to formulate and compile product/service protocols and procedures
• Experienced with using Microsoft Office applications – Word, Excel & PowerPoint.

• Relevant qualification in an electrical/mechanical discipline. (Min Tech Level 3/ONC)
• Working in a healthcare/medical environment
• Working with infection control policies/procedures
• Experience of undertaking/supporting risk assessment compilation.
