Research and Performance Development Officer

Position: Research and Performance Development Officer 
Location: Milton Park, Didcot 
Job Type: Full Time, two-year fixed term contract 
Hours: 37 hours per week 
Salary: £33,225 per annum

About the role: 

They are now recruiting for a Research and Development Officer to build upon their success and to meet the growing challenges faced by the sector. The aim of the Housing Needs team is to ensure that people in housing need have access to the housing and support necessary to meet their needs. The Research and Performance Development Officer will play a key role in driving further service improvements using data analysis. 


- Provide detailed local insight into the causes of homelessness, the household types involved, and the most effective interventions to prevent homelessness 
- Develop an end-to-end database for rough sleepers, including progression through supported housing projects 
- Review and prepare performance data to ensure it effectively supports the achievement of KPI`s and corporate priorities 
- Link into existing housing needs data-based projects for the benefit of local service provision 
- Work with the Housing Needs Manager to undertake benchmarking and value for money exercises 
- Provide Housing Register and Choice Based Lettings data analysis 
- Develop an interactive Housing Freedom of Information database 
- Improve the visualisation of reports and presentations 
- Analyse and report upon customer feedback surveys 
- Research and report upon the use of data across other housing needs teams and associated organisations 
- Provide supporting data for the achievement of the Housing Advice Gold Standard award 
- Ensure that accurate and appropriate records are kept using both computer and manual systems and that confidentiality and data protection requirements are observed 
- Play an active role in the work of the team, ensuring that corporate priorities and targets are met, and procedures followed 
- Undertake project work and produce reports 
- Lead and participate in meetings and training events 
- Any other duties relevant to the position and appropriate to the grading of the post 

About you: 

- 5 GCSE`s at grades A – C, including mathematics, or equivalent level of qualification 
- 3 “A” Levels at grades A – C, including a mathematics related subject, or equivalent level of qualification 
- Extensive experience of using IT systems; databases, Excel and PowerPoint, as well as email and Word 
- An understanding of data analytics and how they can be used to improve team performance 
- Strong oral and written communication skills 
- Full and current driving licence and use of a car insured for business use 
- Understanding of and commitment to anti-discriminatory practice 

If you have the following experience or qualifications – it`s a bonus: 

- Knowledge of local and national housing issues 
- Knowledge of data protection legislation 
- A degree in a mathematics related subject 

You may have experience of the following: Database Administrator, SQL Server, Database Management, CRM Data Analyst, SQL, Information Analyst, Data Analyst, etc.
