SALARY: £9-£10

DURATION: Temporary Ongoing

HOURS: 37 per week (Monday – Friday)

BRC are currently recruiting on behalf of respected Domestic Abuse Charity for a temporary Support Worker to work within a project in Anglesey

Our client is a reputable charity who provides housing and support to men, women, their children and young people across Wales. Their primary support function is to support those escaping domestic abuse, helping them regain their independence

Day to day duties:

- Provide a range of social, emotional and practical support to women and children who have suffered from domestic violence in a safe house
- Work within the Supporting People Framework to enable women to make positive changes to their lives in order to increase safety, well-being and to reduce the threats of homelessness
- Carry out regular risk and needs assessments
- Ensure client needs are assessed regularly and support plans are in place and adhered to
- Refer clients to third party agencies and services as appropriate, for example MARAC, substance misuse, debt advice, Social Services and the Benefits Office
- Ensure accurate records are maintained
- Support service users to maintain licence agreements
- Act as an advocate on behalf of service users encouraging and supporting self-advocacy as appropriate

Essential Requirement:

- Previous experience of providing a support service to a vulnerable client group within a static project or hostel environment

Desirable Requirement:

- Experience of supporting women or families who are fleeing or have suffered from domestic violence
