Coffee Shop Assistant 

MBNA Thames Clippers, part of AEG Europe, are the fastest and most frequent fleet on the river Thames. As London's leading River Bus service, the fleet of high speed catamarans provide commuters and visitors with a unique way to travel around the capital. We carry over 4 million passengers a year and employ 350 staff. 

Position: Barista 
Location: London 
Contract type: Full Time, Permanent 
Hours: 35 per week, 5 days out of 7, shift work 
Salary: £8.60 per hour

About the Role: 

We are hiring Coffee Shop Assistants to work full time on board our vessels and positively engage with customers; maintain a high level of customer service at all times and be cheerful, approachable and helpful. 

We will provide you with training and knowledge of our products so that you are able to serve our customers quickly and efficiently, and maintain and clean Barista equipment and surrounding areas; minimising waste and ensuring stock is maintained. 

About You: 

You will have previous experience in a customer service role, ideally from a hospitality or tourism background. 

With a genuine desire and ability to work with the public in a front line, customer focused environment; you will be able to build rapport with customers and be approachable, knowledgeable and helpful. 

You will have experience of cash handling and a proven ability to work effectively as part of a team and be able to establish good professional relationships with colleagues. You must be able to thrive in a very busy environment and maintain patience and empathy even when working under pressure. 

We need our staff to be committed and flexible in their approach to work and understand that on some shifts, you may have to start early or finish late, whilst ensuring the level of customer service never drops below required standards. You will also be required to work weekends. Our shifts are based on a 5 days out of 7 rolling shift pattern.
