An excellent opportunity is available for an Electrical Project Manager to join an established electrical contractor based in the Castleford area. You will join an existing team to provide extra resource in response to a significant increase in workload. Projects are based towards the commercial retail sector, with the role requiring you to manage a varied portfolio of contracts from initial enquiry through to final accounts. You will be responsible for all projects, facilitating the delivery of projects on time, in budget, with input from all stakeholders and according to the agreed scope. Head office is based in Castleford, but will require site visits throughout the UK with involving staying away from home if applicable to the project.

Principal Accountabilities

* Direct, plan, motivate and monitor the project teams
* Produce scopes of works document from given brief or drawings
* Attend scheme design meetings
* Compile cost plans from drawings and scopes
* Plan and agree scheme phasing details with the design team
* Continually monitor supplier quotations against rates
* Attend and manage on-site scheme phases
* Attend scheme design team meetings as necessary
* Perform site surveys
* Identify and report any queries on weekly FM query and cost plan logs
* Ensure KPI monitoring is completed weekly
* Ensure Health & Safety is compliant at all times
* Manage and prioritise a diverse project related workload
* Delivering management reports information to corporate timetable (monthly, quarterly and annually)
* Develop & maintain operational relationships within Sigma teams and other Directorates e.g. Finance and Operations and external Fixture Managers

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Needed

* Significant experience in a management role, accountable for leading teams to deliver agreed outcomes, setting performance standards and managing staff
* Proven experience in managing projects across the retail sector.
* Ability to lead and develop staff teams of diverse expertise on a direct and matrix basis to achieve organisational objectives
* Experience of successfully planning, controlling, and completing projects (both capital and non-capital) according to project scope, time, quality, and cost
* Ability to obtain, analyse and use information for effective decision-making
* Ability to establish effective customer and stakeholder relationships with others internal and external to the organisation
* Ability to deal with diversity, ambiguity and multi-tasking
* Knowledge of Health & Safety ideally SMSTS certified
* Experience of operating IT systems
* Overall knowledge and understanding of Retail Electrical systems and their installation methods.
* Good people management and motivational skills.
* The ability to work under pressure to meet set deadlines.
* The ability to plan ahead, co-ordinate and prioritise workloads.
* Familiarity with operating projects in accordance with the CDM Regulations and internal business Control of Work policies and procedures. This includes ensuring the availability, isolation and access of plant and equipment (e.g. confined space entry, hot work etc).
* Proven experience in managing projects across the retail sector.

Essential Requirements

* HND or equivalent in Electrical
* 17th Edition
* Experienced in design review and a strong focus on project delivery on site
* Be able to interpret electrical and civil engineering drawings
* Broad knowledge of construction processes, and health, safety and environmental legislate
* Full UK drivers licence
* Minimum 2 years experience within a project role.
* Experience of managing a team
* Experience of working with Microsoft packages
