Job Role
We are looking for a Healthcare Assistant to join our busy team in Stockport supporting our imaging project. The main day to day responsibilities will be to assist the radiography team to operate the various measurement stations within the imaging centre outside of the imaging modalities. This will primarily involve venepuncture, as well as the assessment of basic participant measurements, sample collection and basic interview. There may be an occasional requirement to assist with laboratory processes however; full training and support will be provided.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
1. Experience of working in a clinical or medical environment.
2. Must be an excellent communicator, both spoken and written.
3. Must be polite and approachable
4. Excellent interpersonal skills and be able to clearly explain procedures and instructions to participants.
5. Ability to undertake repetitive tasks to a high quality.
6. Must be able to demonstrate excellent manual dexterity.
7. The ability to escalate issues to the relevant person effectively.
8. Must exhibit attention to detail, with a specific focus on quality.
9. Disciplined in relation to following protocols and procedures.
10. Must be proficient in IT (Microsoft Office).
11. Must be able to maintain confidentiality when working with information and associated patient information.

DESIRABLE CRITERIA
1. Should have venepuncture skills including a clear understanding of venepuncture safety and infection control.
2. Knowledge of IR(ME)R is beneficial & must be safety aware
3. Familiarity with ISO standards (ISO 9001, ISO 15189, ISO27001).
