Cityworx are recruiting for and on behalf of a leading care provider based in Yorkshire.
We are searching for an experienced registered manager or an experienced RGN Manager to lead and manage a state of the art care village.
The role is not like any other registered manager for a residential home.
Our client is a pioneer in the care village concept and this is one of 6 in the portfolio.

Purpose of Position

To manage and develop all aspects of a profit making business, in a commercial and professional manner.
To lead the development of the Care Village and its related services through effective promotion and capitalisation of market opportunities.
To be responsible for the efficient day-to-day and long term management of the Care Village.
To develop effective working communication with all heads of units and departments within the Care Village and ensure regular supervision of all units and departments.
To ensure the on-going monitoring of standards of care provided within the Care Village.

To improve and maintain morale among all staff through effective leadership, consultation and communication.
To attain agreed levels of turnover and profitability and to prepare and adhere to annual operating budgets.

Key Result Areas:

Care/Quality
To be aware of the responsibilities of your position – Named Person in Charge – attend statutory inspections by regulatory bodies and ensures that reports are acted upon in accordance with company policy and procedures.
To ensure the care village is fully compliant with CQC and achieves the best possible grading.
To carry out client assessments
To establish and maintain effective communication with all residents within the Care Village. Client satisfaction is seen as an important function of the General Manager.
Deal with complaints, incidents and accidents in accordance with company policy and report at regular meetings with Operations Director.
To ensure full awareness and understanding by all staff employed within the Care Village of the company’s policies and procedures and risk management protocols.

Estate Management

To ensure that the building and grounds are maintained to a good order and in line with expected company standard.
To ensure that the home decoration is maintained in line with expected company standard and there is appropriate levels of security within the building at all times, being aware of the different client groups and their individual needs.

Finance and Administration
To control all costs by maintaining effective budgetary control, seeking appropriate approval of all variances.
To use computerised care systems to collate information and implement electronic care recording.
Maximise profit performance of the home to meet or exceed profit targets.
Supervise the wages system, the control of payroll data and preparation of the staff rostering system. Ensuring appropriate skill mix on duty for each shift throughout the care village.
Prepare a monthly management report on occupancy, report on budget variances and take appropriate corrective action.
Supervise the fee invoicing system and ensure the procedures for credit control maintain outstanding debt levels within levels prescribed by Operations Director.

HR Management
To ensure that all registered nursing staff are aware of the NMC (UKCC) code of practice and that NMC registration of all nursing staff employed is up to date where appropriate.
To supervise and control all staff throughout the Care Village, including, where appropriate, the professional work of nursing staff.
To have the responsibility for working within the agreed staffing levels for the home. Any request for an increase in staffing levels to be submitted to the Operations Director with supporting evidence to justify request.
To conduct performance reviews for senior staff and appraisals and ensure that all other staff receive performance reviews and appraisals in line with company policy.
To ensure that staff are employed with due regard for company guidelines and legislative requirements.
To be responsible for:-
Recruiting adequate levels of staffing within company guidelines
Training and development of all staff
Termination of employment/dismissal and all disciplinary procedures

Sales and Marketing

To manage sales and marketing strategies in such a manner as to maximise occupancy and bed rates
To establish and maintain an effective succession plan for enquiries and bookings to ensure the continued flow of residents to the Care Village.
To establish and maintain the high profile and good reputation of the Care Village within the community.
To identify key referral groups and build and maintain good working relationships with them.
To identify new care opportunities within the community to expand on care provided within the Care Village.

General

To maintain good relationships with all external bodies and agencies and meet all regulatory and statutory requirements.
The ensure that the Care Village functions within the guidelines and adheres to the Conditions of Registration laid down by CQC and Department of Social Service and to be full y conversant with all relevant legislation and reporting requirements.
To act on all matters arising on a day to day basis in a prompt and effective manner.
To carry out all tasks, assessments and investigations outlined in the company’s policies and procedures and to maintain a full awareness of those procedures and all amendments and updates thereto.
To ensure accurate complete recording of all aspects of administration throughout the Care Village.
To ensure all filing and record keeping is stored in a clear and appropriate manner.
To carry out other duties as will, from time to time be directed.
To carry out all duties in a safe manner having regard for the health and safety and welfare of self, staff, residents and other persons within the Care Village
