My client is a dynamic and competitive property refurbishment contractor within Social Housing environments that has been established since 2007. Examples of their works include kitchen and bathroom installations, internal & external redecorations, external cartilage works, void refurbishments, disabled adaptations, re wiring and electrical upgrade works, heating installations and maintenance. The majority of these works are delivered through partnering and framework contracts.

Due to continued expansion they are now seeking a Graduate Building Surveyor for an immediate start. Reporting into the Commercial Manager, the position requires you to work in a team of four alongside two Quantity Surveyors offering support and carrying out the following tasks.

* Carrying out pre-inspections of both tenanted and empty properties for minor and major works
* Scheduling and managing works to bring properties into a compliant condition.
* Identifying and scheduling repairs to address significant building defects.
* Carrying out post inspections of completed work
* Undertaking out stock condition surveys to properties
* Responsible for liaising with Senior team members internally and externally
* Developing the success of the projects through clear strategy and proactive commitment
* Conducting site visits for a range of purposes including monitoring progress of works, building surveys, defects analysis and measured surveys
* Demonstrating effective communication;
* Ensuring that senior management have quality information on the progress of each project on a regular basis
* Providing all work outputs in an accurate and timely manner

The successful candidate must be qualified to HNC or above in a Building Surveying or property related discipline and hold a full UK Driving License. They will be a clear thinking candidate who is pro-active and is commercially aware and financially astute. The ability to build good relations is key, as is integrity and honesty. You will also have strong IT skills and good written and oral communication skills. Essentially, you will live within a commutable distance from Colchester, Essex.

This full time role is for an immediate start and is paying a competitive salary with an excellent benefits package working for an organization that offers potential for growth.
