My client situated on the outskirts of Bury St Edmunds require an Electrical Fitter to join their expanding team.

Initially this will be working on a one month contract, but for the right person this will lead to a permanent role.

Depending upon experience this position will be paying between £15 - £18 per hour.
In this role you will be required to work all around the UK, in locations such as Edinburgh, London and East Anglia.

The candidate will hold a valid ECS Card along with a 17th Edition Certificate

What does the position involve?
Installs, tests, maintains and repairs electrical installations and wiring in accordance with regulations and specifications, and fits, assembles, installs, tests, commissions, maintains and repairs electrical systems and equipment.

Candidate Requirements:
* Correctly use and maintain the tools of the trade including power tools, test equipment and measuring instruments.
* Install all types of commonly used wiring and wiring accessories.
* Install electrical equipment such as motor starters, controllers, switch gears, switchboards, busbars, transformers and control panels.
* Locate and repair faults in electrical installations and equipment.
* Identify different types of cables and wires.
* Carry out mechanical fitting and assembling works relevant to heavy current equipment, and machine or fabricate parts for such equipment. ?Not Essential
* Install meters, instruments, relays and protection equipment.
* Read and interpret simple electrical specifications, wiring and circuit diagrams, and building plans.
* Inspect, test, commission and maintain electrical installation and equipment.
* Use safety equipment, and protective devices and equipment.
* Correctly instruct, supervise and transfer skill to any apprentice and semi-skilled worker assigned to him to ensure safety and quality of work.

Knowledge of:
* Engineering calculations associated with current carrying capacity of cables, wires, fuses and other circuit protective devices.
* Single and three-phase circuits, earth circuits, insulating and conducting materials, switch fuses and isolators.
* Electrical wiring diagrams, symbols, engineering drawings and layout drawings for electrical systems.
* Use of test equipment and measuring instruments.
* Basic workshop practice, engineering materials, conduit and wiring.
* Electric motors, starting methods and control equipment.
* Procedures for inspection, testing and certification of electrical fixed installations.
* Industrial hazards, safety and health precautions, and environmental concerns.
* Installation practice and regulations, and relevant codes of practice.
