Our client is an established Not for Profit organisation providing support and accommodation for some of the most vulnerable people in society.

They are currently seeking a Gardener / Maintenance Worker to join their Bradford based team. The main purpose of this role is to deal with the general upkeep of ground managed by the site management team as well as dealing with a wide range of basic repair work, removing and disposing of rubbish and general upkeep of properties.

Within this role your main responsibilities will include grass cutting, hedge trimming, weeding and rubbish collection; liaising with external suppliers and in-house maintenance staff to ensure that all garden machinery is in good, safe working order and assessing the suitability of existing equipment, making proposals for hire and purchase as and when required. You will also be expected to clear and tidy external areas to ensure they are free of litter, leaves etc; assist with seasonal jobs (gutter cleaning, gritting, snow clearance) and ensure that vans, workshops and work spaces are kept clean and tidy.

The successful candidate will have worked within a similar role previously (ground maintenance or similar) and will be a strong team player. Any previous training in general maintenance and / or health and safety would be advantageous as would having an awareness of some of the issues faced by vulnerable groups in our society. You must be a good communicator who is polite and can remain professional at all times.

A full UK driving licence is essential.
