Process Automation & Control Engineer

Major Recruitment is working in partnership with one of the worlds largest Chemical Manufactures. They are currently seeking a Process Automation & Control Engineer.

This particular site primarily manufactures products used to enhance industrial processing in various industries such as papermaking, mining, oil extraction, wastewater treatment and textile processing. It also manufactures ingredients used in home and personal care products, such as thickening agents.

The site is approximately 50 acres with 11 main production facilities and approximately 600 employees. It has an excellent safety and environmental record and enjoys strong links with the local community.

As part of the Bradford and Grimsby site automation team which manages highly automated complex control systems utilising the latest cutting edge technologies you will take responsibility for:

• Managing automation engineering projects in compliance with safety and investment procedures including developing and implementing project automation concepts for continuous and complex batch processes.

• The development and implementation of Emerson Delta V configuration including recipe management using S88 batch concepts.

• The development and implementation of control system advanced process control techniques.

• Proactively seeking and identifying process control optimisation opportunities in production plants to improve operational excellence and efficiencies.

• Providing process/control system operational support for a production cluster.

• Maintaining, developing and improving Bradford & Grimsby control systems standards including documentation.

• Championing alarm management for a production cluster with a view to working with operations to comply with EEMUA191.

• Working with your manager to identify your learning and development needs and working towards an agreed learning and development plan.
Candidate Requirements

• Educated to Degree level or equivalent HNC/HND with experience.

• 3 years experience of Emerson Delta V S88 batch and configuration. Experience in implementing advanced process control strategies.

• Good knowledge of production manufacturing processes including instrumentation and control.

Hours of Work
37 hours per week.

Standard office hours of work are Monday-Thursday 08.45-17.15, Friday 08.45-16.45 which includes an unpaid lunch break of 1 hour per day.

Standard Non-Office hours of work are Monday-Thursday 8.00-16.30, Friday 8.00-16.00 which includes an unpaid lunch break of 1 hour per day.

Overtime, if applicable, will be paid on the basis set out in the Overtime Policy.

Annual paid holiday entitlement is 25 days plus the 8 UK official Bank Holidays provided you have completed a year’s service. The holiday year runs from 1 January to 31 December
