Working for this large luxury flagship store, a highly respected retailer, you will provide highly effective management to the retail security team, ensuring they carry out their duties in a diligent and effective manner in the prevention and detection of offences against the company, its staff, customers, products & assets. You will manage and oversee the execution of Standard Operating Procedures in the event of an incident. Other duties include:
* Fully responsible for the store out of store hours, this includes the accountability and duty of care for all personnel on site. In addition, the complete security function of the site.
* Deal with security incidents, being able to assume control and co-ordinate the security response with the emergency services, as appropriate.
* Excellent knowledge of the Standard Operating Procedures and able to execute them effectively in the event of an incident.
* Drive the team to deliver exceptional customer experience, without compromising the security of the store and all within it.
* Lead, drive and inspire the team so that they achieve to the highest standard.
* Coach and empower the team to deliver all their duties.
* Putting the customer at the heart of everything you do and all decisions you make – providing exceptional customer experience; treating all with respect and courtesy.
* Demonstrate strong management capabilities, challenging, coaching, directing and supporting your team to maximise their engagement and performance.
* Responsibility for the development of the team; ensuring strong succession planning, individuals all have robust Personal Development Plans.
* Act as a role model to your team; upholding and conducting yourself in accordance with all company procedures and policies.
* Lead handovers and shift-briefing sessions.
* Ensure there is optimum cover from your team at any given time.
* Provide excellent customer service when dealing with both internal and external customers.
* Have a strong knowledge of the laws, rules of evidence and court procedures relevant to the role.
* Ensure SIA standards regarding officer behaviour are adhered to and physical abilities are achieved.
* Effective understanding of the Company’s Health and Safety policy and maintain the health and safety of both yourself and others whilst at work and in line with its instructions.
* Undertake investigation & action into complaints and/or inquiries generated by, staff, contractors and the general public.
* Be proficient in Conflict Management, Conflict resolution and physical intervention technique.
* Undertake initial investigations & action concerning missing merchandise / equipment or other allegations of crime.
* Keep appropriate and thorough records of incidents and write reports when necessary.
* Maintain and contribute to the continuity of your team’s workload and responsibilities and be jointly responsible for the safety, welfare and productivity of the team at all times.
* Work together with the wider directorate; as a team, to build commitment, relationships and strengthen the team’s collective skills base.
* Continue to learn and grow by developing skills beyond core activities.
* Anticipate and identify training needs for your team and see them through to delivery.
* Participate in Security training and progress tests
* Support new colleagues when learning new systems and best practice.
* Act as an ambassador for the organisation, constantly upholding the Harrods values, both internally and externally, in terms of behaviour and ways of doing business
