Electrical & Instrumental Technician
Rate: £20 - £23 per hour
Location: Newcastle
Type: 12 month contract

An Electrical & Instrument Technician is required to work for a large manufacturing company based in Newcastle. They are looking for someone to start ASAP working days @ 37.5 hours per week on a 12 month contract. The pay rate is between £20 - £23 per hour.

- An inherent regard to all current safety requirements that are generally applicable to all industrial areas.
- Knowledge of up to date and latest instrumentation market. Wiring regulations and international standards.
- Installation, maintenance, commissioning, calibration and fault finding experience
- Understanding of PLC and SCADA applications.
- Any experience in detergent process industries would also be an advantage.

- The ability to communicate the need for and carry out `Safe Working` through Permit To Work procedures.
- The ability to convert extremely complicated P&IDs to your level of understanding.
- An astute fault finding ability emanating from a wealth of previous process and maintenance experience.
- To carry out progressive and preventative maintenance tasks within a detailed schedule.
- The capability to manage a detailed program of calibration and to document the procedures and findings to quality assurance level. Comfortable in communicating with internal and external engineering contacts, reaching from technical telephone conversation to complex engineering meeting` discussion.
- Maintenance of and production and assurance of all types of technical documentation.
- Computer literacy with general PC skills, (Word, Excel, Microsoft Project, MS Access , PowerPoint) would be an advantage.

- Capable of working unsupervised and alongside process and operational staff in diverse R&D environment.
- Willingness to work either stand alone or within a small team of widely skilled engineers with astute regard to safety, accuracy, trial schedules, maintenance and calibration programs.
- Willingness to work in an R&D environment where reliability and success is dependant on engineering input and commitment.

- It is expected that you will have complete a recognised apprenticeship and obtained a NVQ Level 3, ONC or HNC qualification in Electrical, Instrumentation or Control discipline.
