Technical Sales Engineer

The client has earned a reputation as a major player in its field and specialising in the design and manufacture of customised stainless-steel equipment and filtration systems.
Their commitment to their customers is to provide the best possible service in terms of design, fabrication, product quality, delivery and traceability. They operate across a wide range of industries delivering a complete engineering service that incorporates:
Technical Sales Engineers are the main point of contact providing both pre-and after-sales advice.

You will liaise regularly with the Sales team and colleagues from a range of departments, including:

* Design office
* Project Engineering
* Manufacturing
* Purchasing
* Management

On-the-job training to gain product knowledge is provided but a technical ability along with sales skills to offer advice and support is needed; duties and attributes include:

* Engineering background, fabrication experience or mechanical ability is beneficial
* Responsive, customer focussed, establish and maintain good relations
* Communicate effectively, ability to work individually or as part of a team
* Visualise and produce basic 3D drawings by hand
* Create and submit quotations
* Process orders, purchase components
* Attend meetings with sales and workshop personnel
* Sound judgement and good business sense
* Organisational skills
* Analytical and problem-solving skills
* Resilience and tenacity
* Independence and self-reliance
* Willingness to travel within the UK and abroad

Hours of work
Normal hours of work would be 08:00 to 16:30 from Monday to Thursday, and 08:00 to 15:15 on Friday (the standard working week is 38.75 hours). Breaks include 30 minutes for lunch which is unpaid and two paid 15-minute breaks for tea/coffee, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
The right candidates would have the possibility of being taken onto a permanent basis
