My client a leading Engineering company is currently looking for a Building Services Coordinator based in Cleveland on an initial 6 month contract with the potential to be extended.

The main functions of the role are to operate, maintain and improve the site buildings and infrastructure using contracted services where required in a safe, cost effective and efficient manner in order to meet customer and legislative requirements.

The day to day duties of the role are:
• To source appropriate contractors and services as and when necessary, supporting the introduction of service level agreements. To develop and maintain relationships with agencies and contracted services organisations
• To coordinate and deliver site inductions for all contractors to ensure safe working in accordance with site standards e.g. safe systems of work
• To coordinate and manage contractors and third party organisations ensuring that their work is of a sufficient standard. Must be able to deal with difficult situations which may arise such as failure to adhere to such standards
• To coordinate buildings and infrastructure, operation and maintenance tasks in line with the programme of work
• To create, manage and maintain records, site surveys and reports in order to assist with resource planning and to ensure that all legislative assessments and inspections are up to date and auditable
• Ensure all statutory testing/ inspections of systems are carried out to required standards. For example; fire alarms, lone workers alarms, emergency lighting, PAT testing, Fixed electrical Inspection and testing
• Issue permits of work where appropriate and review and approve contractor risk assessments and method statements to ensure all work is carried out in a safe manner
• Manage work associated with asbestos risks appropriately and in line with regulations
• Monitor, maintain and review operational and EHS management control systems within buildings such as legionella, fire management and asbestos control
• Support the use of continuous improvement tools and techniques to assist with setting standards and improving ways of working
• Deputise for the Operations Engineer as and when required
• To carry out other duties that are within the employee’s skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed.
