Reporting to the Hire Desk Supervisor you will be responsible for providing excellent service to our nationwide client base. You will be a great team player on the busy Hire Desk. Due to the nature of the role, you should be able to think quickly on your feet and also be able to get the most out of the assets of the company (in financial terms).

Responsibilities will include:

* Answering incoming calls to take on hires/off hires/exchanges/breakdowns
* To email confirmations of all on hires/off hires where possible
* Dealing with emails in a personal inbox and shared hire inbox colour coding any that are being dealt with personally. Once the emails are concluded these then are filed in appropriate folders
* To liaise with Traffic Operators on deliveries and collections
* To input quotes on to the system and follow up as necessary
* Raising orders to suppliers
* To raise and attach purchase orders with relevant paperwork
* Assure accuracy on contracts to orders
* To chase new work when phones are quiet
* To support others when busy
* Investigate and resolve any customer queries raised either direct or via the credit control department
* Provide high levels of customer service at all times
* Provide asset information when required for machine sales
* Carry out analysis work for customer specific requests
* Ensure that all phones are answered within 3 rings
* Updating the Hire System Software
* Liaising with other depots
* Chasing orders from customers
* Negotiating with customers and suppliers
* Raising Invoices
* General Administration

Skills required:

* Good spoken and written English (minimum Grade C GCSE English Language is required)
* Good educational background
* Excellent negotiation skills
* Excellent organisational skills
* Excellent communication skills especially via the telephone
* Exceptional team player
* Use of MS Excel and Office is essential
* Excellent customer service skills
* Confident and flexible attitude
