Project Operations Manager for innovative and creative food development company circa £30-40k salary plus package

We are looking for an ambitious, driven Project Operations Manager to join an expanding food development company.

This amazing business provide food and beverage innovation solutions (think new recipe creation, menu relaunches or restaurant relaunches) for a varied client base – from small independent grab n go pop ups to larger branded foodie restaurant groups.

The role:

The Project Operations Manager will oversee multiple projects, manage their own projects but also work with the team on others.

Acting as “Art Director”, you will drive projects forward. ensuring the kitchen team are developing products that are suitable for the client - hitting the brief in terms of creativity, foodiness, commercial, process etc

There will be an operational and training side to your role, working through operational design and process design for clients, and creating training materials and conducting training of client staff.

The Project Operations Manager will work across various projects, drive them forward, work with the chef team and clients directly.

The role will include project management and the successful candidate will have a background of working across multiple projects at once.

This is a dynamic role, suitable for someone with a background in management positions in the foodservice (fast casual or casual dining) industry but not necessarily kitchen background. A good understanding of restaurant operations will be key for this role

This is a new role within the business which will have scope to change and develop with the right individual.

Our ideal candidate:

* Understanding of food and market trends
* Understanding of various types of food and drink establishment types – operations, menus, customer journeys, offerings and brand positioning.
* Pragmatic commercial and operational knowledge with an understanding of the creative process of creating new concepts
* Drive to push projects forward and ensuring that the projects and flow well
* Confidence and ability to make mid-level decisions without consulting Directors while understanding where it is important to do so
* Ability to spot process errors and build on the Company’s procedures and policies – creating systems where needed but understanding when they are not needed
* Excellent presentation skills
* Strive for the best in all work done
* Ability to train and manage staff both out of the business and within as necessary
* Precision and methodical approach to all tasks
* Maintaining good supplier and client relationships and creating new ones
* Keep up to date with macro and food trends, attend trade shows etc
* Proficient with Microsoft office programs
* Friendly, confident and professional manor
* Excellent communication skills
* Flexible with a can-do attitude
* Flexibility towards working hours and ability to travel when needed

Normal working hours: Central London, Monday to Friday. 8.00am – 5.30pm
