£50,000 to £60,000 + amazing benefits


We are currently working with an industry leading organisation going through major transformation. They are looking to build an IT function with the capability to deliver a portfolio which encompasses a major part of the business.

As a service manager you will be responsible the management of key relationships and the delivery of IT services. You will need to develop a strong understanding of what is important to your business area and articulate that to your customer (internal and external).

IT Service Manager Duties:

* manage and deliver service and continual service improvements to customers

* manage other internal and external delivery units to deliver successful outcomes

* identify and deliver service improvement opportunities to improve customer experience

* perform regular service reviews to ensure expectations are understood and delivered against

* provide matrix management and service direction to technical teams

* improve the maturity of and ensure compliance to ITIL processes

* engage with and influence senior colleagues from the retail business

* support decision making during major incidents (on a duty incident manager rota)

* motivate teams and people across retail IT to improve services

* collaborate with teams onsite, offshore, and onshore

To be successful as an IT service manager lead you’ll need at least foundation level ITIL accreditation as well as a proven track record in IT service management. A tenacious, proactive approach to problem solving is essential. And if you can really get to the bottom of what your customers need, and share that knowledge effectively with the right people, you’ll have an amazing opportunity to make a really visible impact on the day to day performance of our retail business.

IT Service Manager Essential:

* you have ITIL foundation level accreditation (and ideally expert level)

* you understand the ITIL framework and the interdependencies of each of the processes

* you’ve got extensive experience in IT services (including looking after critical systems)

* you can collaborate with supply partners and influence them to do the right things

* you’re flexible and happy to be on call at weekends as duty incident manager

* you can identify what good service looks like and communicate that to IT teams

* you are passionate about delivering a really responsive and proactive service

* you’re tenacious and will get to the bottom of a problem and hold technical teams to account

* you have worked in in-sourced and out-sourced model (ideally with off-shore delivery units)
