My client, a Leading Banking organisation are looking to hire an experienced Solution Designer/Architect for their cards and payments business. Purpose of the role: Responsible for creating technology solutions to design business solutions in line with business needs and priorities and aligned to the businesses strategies and architecture. Work closely with product owners, scrum master, other solution designers, technical leads, and developers to ensure outcomes delivered meet the businesses benefits and adhere to agreed standards, policies and design patterns. Define and drive architecture vision and systems strategy. Provide adhoc technical consultancy and support as required. Key Responsibilities: Solutions Development Responsible for creating technology solutions, architectural visions, proofs of feasibility and solutions impacts assessments to meet business requirements in line with Group IT strategies and architectures. Works with external partners and suppliers to deliver require business services and products. Proactively researches relevant technologies and demonstrate their benefits by developing POCs where necessary Adding clarity to business requirements; challenges business requirements to ensure high quality candidate solutions are created Thinks outside of the box to support the business in delivering its strategic objectives rather than just responding to a predefined requests. Provides thought leadership and drive technology innovation. Provides advice on supplier and cost options, ensures that the validity of the overall solution is fully represented and considered in any process, or in the creation and evaluation of proof of concept solutions Has experience of and is conversant with migration from legacy estate delivery to cloud based solutions (e.g. afis), devops practices and agile delivery methods. Advice and Guidance: Provides advice and guidance to business and technology stakeholders in shaping the portfolio of technology solutions to support business needs Gives hands on guidance and support to delivery teams Contributes to broader architectural governance activities by participating in peer reviews for other solutions. Maintains detailed awareness of, takes fully into account, and promotes throughout the organisation, any relevant statutory, internal or external regulations, standards and codes of good practice. Capable of contributing to the definition of such regulations, standards and codes. Coaches and mentors other members of the architecture teams and the broader technology community Strategy Development (20$) Working closely with the relevant lead solutions designers and Chief architecture owners supports the creation of an appropriate IT strategy. Influences the relevant business strategy to maximize the effective use of technology to drive customer value. Maintains knowledge of relevant technical skills at the highest level. Builds relationship with manufacturers and supply channels. Required Skills: Very strong, handson technical skills with broad knowledge of web technologies, methodologies and standards Strong software development and application architecture experience Great communicator with the ability to explain technical decisions to the broader team and company at executive Passionate about and experienced at: working in agile environments; continual delivery techniques; testing Servant leader with a passion for personal mastery and continuous improvement Motivates, leads and encourages others regardless of position within chain of command and outside of direct reporting lines Demonstrate initiative and competence; support and encourage positive working behaviours in others A lifelong learner who freely shares information and experience and seeks knowledge from others Familiar with integration and implementation issues and their architectural implications.
