Salary £30,000 - £40,000 per annum plus car, package and benefits

I am seeking a motivated Site Engineer to provide site engineering duties for a number of projects within the Eastern region. This exciting role will include establishing the level and survey control for contracts and setting out detailed works as per the contract drawings, ensuring that checks are made on a regular basis. The role will also involve managing and directing ground and archaeological investigation contractors along with other disciplines such as fencing and land drainage.

Compliance with Company and legal requirements is of paramount importance so knowledge and understanding of these would be required. Problem-solving skills will also be required to deal with any technical difficulties that may arise, and the role would suit someone self-driven with a positive outlook, experience of using robotic total station instruments and relevant site qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Site engineering

* Establish the level and survey control for contracts.
* Set out detailed works as per the contract drawings, ensuring checks are carried out on a regular basis.
* Ensure that records are accurate and comply with organisational and legal requirements.
* Resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise at any time.

Health, safety & environment

* Promote the companies Cardinal Rules and establish safe working cultures and practices
* Comply with Company procedures and legal obligations
* Promote and comply with environmental compliance
* Deliver the works safely and to deadline

Person Specification:

The successful candidate is likely to meet all of the following criteria:

Essential

* Previous experience of setting out on civil engineering projects
* Sound knowledge of construction methods, health and safety, and legal regulations
* Degree/HNC qualified, or equivalent, in civil engineering
* Fully conversant with the use of robotic total station instruments
* Some experience of AutoCAD
* CSCS card
* Cable avoidance training
* First aid training Confined space training
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with both clients and staff
* Self-driven and results-oriented with a positive outlook

Desirable

* Temporary works co-ordination

NEBOSH or IOSH
