IT infrastructure and operations management! …if that, in a nutshell, describes your expertise and passion and you’re currently seeking a new challenge in the Slough area, then I’d like to discuss the following opportunity with you.

Reporting to the IT Director and leading a team of c8 core staff, you could hold a key IT management role within this blue chip corporate and ensure the quality delivery of a range of IT services, with a focus on customer satisfaction, the currency of existing systems and services and the integration of required changes.

Contributing to strategy, architectural direction and infrastructure / operational roadmaps, you would also ensure the smooth running of day to day IT services, including:

• Establishing, communicating, managing and maintaining agreed service levels
• Building and maintaining 3rd party IT supplier relationships
• Managing the service desk and applications support
• Network and security management
• Telephony management
• Incident management
• First-level sign-off for IT Spend
• Deployment of IT assets
• Purchasing and management of equipment
• Defining and implementing continuous improvement
• Troubleshooting

In a post that requires flexibility and adaptability, ‘call-out’ and ‘out of hours working’ may be involved from time to time and representation for the IT Director (as well as for IT in cross-functional project teams) at some meetings etc. would form an important part of the role.

With excellent demonstrable working knowledge of IT operations and infrastructure, you’ll possess an ITIL Foundation qualification upward and be a self-motivated IT manager, with strong budget management, IT project and problem solving experience. With excellent communication skills (both oral and written), you’ll be a pragmatic and decisive manager, with the ability to effectively manage and mentor your team in the provision of a quality wide ranging IT support function.

On offer in return is a basic starting salary of £50,000 - £55,000 per annum, along with a range of benefits that include pension, family Bupa + C Plan (or cash in lieu) and 25 days holiday (increasing with service)
