Financial Controller (Director Designate)
Location: Leicester

Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 a year

Financial Controller Main duties and responsibilities
Accounting
• Preparation of month end accounts
• Produce accurate monthly management accounts on a timely basis including variance analysis against budget
• Ensue all transactions are accurately accounted for and undertake (in due course oversee) bank, CC and supplier reconciliations
• Communicate with managers in the review process of the management accounts

Budgets and Forecasts
• Liaising with the management team to produce the proposed annual budget
• Produce quarterly forecasts as per the agreed timetable and entered correctly into reporting system

Treasury
• Produce monthly cash flow projections showing weekly movement
• Manage debtors and creditors
• Maintain good relationship with bankers/Investor

Financial department
• Recruit and manage a finance team
• Ensure accounting and reporting systems remain fit for purpose
• Develop and document company processes and procedures

General
• Identify opportunities for improving and enhancing results
• Act as a key point of contact for all teams by building strong working relationships with the business
• Provide analysis of KPIs, profitability and trends to identify areas of opportunity or concern.
• Year end - company accounts preparation / audit / tax work
• Undertake / oversee the ongoing tax and corporate obligations (VAT, PAYE, Corp Tax, Stat Accounts)

Knowledge, skills, attitudes and behaviours required

Key requirements
• Fully qualified accountant (ACA / CIMA/ACCA)
• Minimum 5 years post qualification experience
• Strong attention to detail with a passion for accuracy
• Good technical skills combined with first class budgeting, forecasting and analytical credentials
• Experience in managing high volume transactions and payment gateways would be advantageous but is not essential
• Ability to work in a fast paced, time sensitive environment where meeting tight deadlines is critical
