Assistant F & B Manager required for a private members’ golf club, located in North London.

Set in idyllic and tranquil surroundings along with an inspiring and undulating course makes this one of the best private members’ golf clubs in London.

The successful candidate will have varied experience at Supervisory or Management level, in a similar high profile establishment. Demonstrating a passion for customer service. Demonstrating experience of beer line cleaning, and a strong knowledge of beer and wines, and with function experience. Working 40 hours per week on a rota basis to include weekends.
£20K + gratuity + pension scheme working within a private members’ golf club.

An amazing opportunity for an experienced Bar & Functions Supervisor seeking the next step in their career, or an experienced Assistant F & B Manager seeking a new opportunity.

Purpose of the role
To assist with the F & B Manager, control and development of the Food and Beverage department with specific responsibility for the Bar and Functions sections. Maintaining a high level of service to their members and visitors.

To be successful within this role, you will need to display a passion for excellent customer service. The individual will be a self-starter who is welcoming and able to support strong team. Attention to detail is essential with a focus on consistent quality of product and presentation.

Essential Qualifications

- Intermediate food and hygiene qualifications and Level 3 food safety.
- Commercially minded: with a knowledge of seasonal trends of the industry.
- Personal License holder.
- Excellent communicator.
- Physically fit as heavy lifting is involved with this role.

Key Responsibilities

- Serving alcoholic drinks at the bar only during the Club’s licensing hours.
- Taking and processing food orders and to help serve meals as and when.
- Ensuring bar is appropriately stocked giving consideration to upcoming Club functions.
- The cleanliness of all utensils, storage areas, vending machines, refrigerators and working surfaces.
- Ensuring tables in the bar and lounge area are regularly cleared of glasses and kept clean and tidy.
- Accounting daily for all takings, providing an analysis thereof as and when required.
- Welcoming societies and other visitors and making sure that they are aware of arrangements made for them and of the Club’s dress rules both on and off the course.
- Report immediately to the Clubhouse Manager any damage or necessary repairs to the Clubhouse. Repairing where possible.
- Maintaining the security of the Clubhouse as directed by the Clubhouse Manager including opening and closing times as laid down by the Committee.
- To be fully conversant with the alarm system of the Club.
- Supervising activity in the dining room and at Club functions when asked by the Clubhouse Manager in their absence assuming responsibility.
- To provide cover for the Clubhouse Manager in conjunction with the Head Chef when absent. Deputising for the Clubhouse manager in their absence.
- Ensuring the vending machine in the main lounge is kept clean and sufficient supplies of milk, sugar, spoons, cups and saucers are available on a daily basis.
- Dealing with all members and guests requests in an efficient and courteous manner
- Pro-actively promoting the Golf Club to all visitors and guests
- Ensuring the daily cleanliness of the clubhouse, after the daily clean.
- Ensuring stock orders are placed in good time and helping to ensure the correct stock levels are held at all times
- Maintaining a professional appearance and attitude at all times
- Assisting with function meetings as and when requested, deputising for the Clubhouse manager

Person Specification

- Must have varied Experience within a quality establishment, ideally golf club or leisure industry.
- Excellent communicator.
- Able to work in a calm and positive way.
- Professional and smart appearance.
- Physically fit.
