An opportunity for a fixed term 1 year contract with possible extension, has arisen for the position of Management Accountant for one of the top 40 NHS Hospitals in the Country.
The successful applicant will be responsible for providing support to the Trust on all aspects of financial accounting, including developing and maintaining financial processes and control systems, and treasury management.
Working within the Central Management Accounts Team dedicated to one Division, you will assist in the provision of comprehensive high-quality financial support across the Trust to the Group Management teams, individual budget holders and other relevant officers both internal and external to the Trust.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The ideal applicant will possess minimum 2 years’ experience of working in financial management environments preferably in NHS. A sound knowledge of Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and computerised financial systems will be necessary.
The role will involve providing a full financial support role to the Managers, including analysing continuing care spend on a monthly basis, investigating variances, calculating forecasts and providing advice and support on budgetary control processes, developing effective and efficient systems and processes to achieve this.
The successful candidate will be a CCAB part qualified Accountant or equivalent and will need excellent IT skills in order to manage large volumes of data, using MS Excel and a contract database.
You will be a technically competent, self-confident individual who is capable of communicating effectively with finance and non-finance managers. Often working under pressure, to complete assigned tasks within tight deadlines you will need to demonstrate commitment and flexibility.
You should be enthusiastic and be able to work with little supervision to tight deadlines, the ability to provide clear and concise financial information and advice to non-financial managers is essential.
Must have extensive experience using a computerised ledger system and an in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office software. Must also possess excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to deal with people at all levels.
