The Role:

You will be responsible for all accounting practices, budgeting, financial controls, costs, and financial reporting for the Line of Business. Working with the Business Unit Controller you will apply consistent accounting practices to the line of business.

  • Primarily for this Financial Controller position, you will focus on leading finance staff across Europe, Africa and the Middle East (delegation through three Controllers, total team size approximately 100);

  • Secondary will be to direct all accounting practices for the Line of Business; lead the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and forecast processes within the Line of Business;

  • Work intimately with the Business Unit Controller to interpret and apply consistent accounting practices;

  • Partner closely with business leaders to provide input into development of business strategies;

  • Ensures that appropriate resources are available for internal and external financial and process audits;

  • Forecasts logistics costs and inventory; provide leadership to the business to meet logistics and working capital targets; lead financial analysis on capital projects and overall capital management process;

  • Analyse business results, determines root causes and prepares recommendations and alternatives for review by management;

  • Provides business support in terms of product costing, receivables and inventory control;

  • Oversee monthly and quarterly financial reporting;

  • Lead efforts to comply with SEC reporting requirements to Corporate and other regulatory organisations;

  • Coach and mentor direct reports; assign work according to availability, skills, and developmental needs; assess performance and provide feedback to direct reports.

The Individual:

  • A relevant degree in Accounting, Finance or related field;

  • Be a Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or similar);

  • Significant experience in a related position, including strategy, managerial and budgetary experience working within a large manufacturing or distribution centre environment;

  • Provide excellent leadership to a wider region to bring people across the region together as one;

  • Comfortable leading large finance teams over Europe, Africa & Middle East;

  • Able to drive a long term strategy for finance across region with focus on Centralisation, Process Excellence and standardisation;

  • Increase business partnering with customers;

  • Shared service experience would be a big plus
