Business Development sales Relationship Director Manager Commercial SME leadership

An international bank and the United Kingdom's leading personal financial services companies with the distinction of being one of the largest providers of mortgages and savings in the country. The company has built a strong branch network UK wide and currently employs over 20,000 employees. As a consequence of sustained growth there is a need for a Business Relationship Director to help a team of Relationship Managers develop existing and new business with small and medium enterprises with the London region. Role: As a Business Relationship Director, your role will be to identify customers' business needs and present a range of solutions that the Bank can provide, including banking services and financing. You will market and sell the bank's products and services to small/medium-sized enterprises(SME) providing excellent customer service and helping businesses to grow. Responsibilities include:

  • Support in becoming the Small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) bank of choice by deepening customer relationships through positive engagement and delivery
  • Originate new customer relationships and contribute towards the bank's objectives of increasing primacy and customer loyalty
  • Participate in reviews and development sessions with your direct boss
  • Raise the profile of the Banks brand within the local community and via various programmes
  • Develop a local business development plan in conjunction with the Business Development and Branch Managers
  • Act as a senior and active figurehead within the business community by developing a personal network within the local business and professional community
  • Achieve high quality credit applications and uphold a high standard of data quality for application and account submissions
  • Help develop Relationship Managers

Candidate Profile:

  • Proven business development and product knowledge gained within a banking environment
  • Excellent relationship management skills - proven experience within a customer facing role is essential
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Proven track record in Business Development
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills
