My client is a multinational professional services firm headquartered in London which provides engineering, design, planning, project management and consulting services for all aspects of the built environment. The firm has over 14,000 staff based in 92 offices across 42 countries, and is present in Africa, the Americas, Australasia, East Asia, Europe and the Middle East.

Due to massive growth and project development my client are currently recruiting for a IT Support Field Engineer , the role will be based within there Liverpool office but will involve supporting both the Risley and Whitehaven sites . Due to this weekly travel will be required to both sites .

Job brief/purpose

*Responsible for supporting local office IT requirements and supporting the needs of users located in 3 separate locations
*Travel to each of the responsible locations weekly. 3 days in Liverpool (home office), a day in Risley and a day in Whitehaven is expected.
*Planning, implementation and control of service provision and training to meet the requirements of the business
*Provide local technical support within own remit to ensure systems remain operational and effective


*Investigates more complex problems and other requests for support and determines appropriate actions
*Monitors application systems, notes problems, identifies performance trends
*Supervises installation and maintenance of new systems, hardware and software, including programming and management of roll out in local area
*Prioritises requests in accordance with agreed criteria and needs of the organisation for self and support staff
*Monitors progress of requests for support, keeps all parties informed and acts to minimise delays
*Participates in system reviews to identify problems, solutions and needs for upgrades
*Provides guidance and coordinates work of other staff providing technical support


*Previous experience of working within a tier 2+ IT Support role
*At least three years working in a similar role to what is offered in an environment similar in size and complexity
*Familiar and comfortable with dealing with senior management, customers and other leadership teams with excellent communication skills.
*Previous experience of proactive and effective communication with Technology consumers

Required Knowledge & Skill

*Experience in managing/supporting the following systems (required):
oExtensive knowledge required in Windows 7 & Windows 10 environments
oMicrosoft Office 2013 & O365
oActive Directory Users and Computers & Group Policy Management Console
oInternet Explorer 11 +
oUnderstanding of TCP/IP networking
oVideo Conference and other room facility Systems
oWorking with Incident Management systems such as Service Now
*Knowledge of wireless networking (configuration/troubleshooting)
*Ability to identify PC hardware problems and replace/add components when necessary
*Knowledge of these systems (preferred):
oCisco AnyConnect
oSymantec Endpoint Protection
oService Now or other Service Management tools
oDell/HP Client Systems
oVNC or other remote tools
oArchitectural, Engineering and/or CAD related software
