Our client is a Charity who provide supported living and supported housing services for vulnerable people who have experienced social exclusion, homelessness and mental health illness.

They are looking to recruit an experienced Support workers on a part-time basis for 15 hours per week to form part of their team for their first female housing support provision .

The accommodation is open from 8:30am to 9:00pm managed on a rota basis, and there is weekend working on a rota basis.

The successful candidates will play a vital role in supporting the project and a significant part in promoting social cohesion and human welfare.

This Provision has been developed to support vulnerable females between 18 and 65 years of age who typically present complex and special needs with challenging behaviour but have capacity to eventually, with the right support, live independently. Some of these residents come via forensic CMHT, but all have been stepped down from residential care homes. The support provided will be intense rehabilitation and will be personalised to each resident, tailored around achieving greater independence, and breaking down any institutionalisation through social inclusion and community engagement. The kind of support residents will expect to receive vary from support with learning cooking, managing their accommodation, budgeting, engaging with drug and alcohol services, enrolling on educational courses, developing employment skills, and much more.

Our client will need potentially applicants to meet the following desired criteria of the role as follows:

Educational Achievements
„X Undergraduate Degree ideally in social work, psychology/ health and social care, housing or equivalent.
„X Level 3 or above in NVQ Health and Social Care.
„X Will ideally hold a current driving licence and has access to a car.

Experience & Knowledge

„X Working within a high supported mental health environment.
„X Key working clients with enduring mental health, challenging behaviours, complex needs and substance misuse.
„X Lone working in a high support environment.
„X Effectively working with other professionals involved in supporting a client.
„X Dealing sensitively and appropriately with clients who may be distressed or in a state of crisis.
„X Following guidelines and policies.
„X Good knowledge of mental health conditions and dual diagnosis.
„X Knowledge of support planning and risk assessing client¡¦s needs.
„X Knowledge of equality, diversity and safeguarding procedure.
„X Working with females with enduring mental health, challenging behaviours, complex needs and substance misuse.
„X Knowledge of the Quality Assessment Framework (QAF) or Care Quality Commission (CQC).

You will also have:

„X -The ability to plan and prioritise own work to meet deadlines and strict targets.
