Lead Risk Modelling Analyst - SAS - IFRS9


Up to £60,000 + Bonus + Benefits

One of the world's biggest consumer finance brand is looking for a Lead Risk Modelling Analyst to work within their expanding Risk Modelling team, where you will use your hands on modelling experience to develop new models across the business. If you come from a traditional Impairment Forecasting, Capital or Stress Testing environment and are looking for an opportunity to step-up in a more senior role coaching junior analysts then this is the perfect opportunity for you.

THE ROLE - Lead Risk Modelling Analyst:

This is an exciting opportunity for a Lead Risk Modelling Analyst where you will support the successful deployment of new models across the bank by working in a team who designs and implements the appropriate operating model across Risk and Finance. As a Lead Analyst in the team, you will be required to coach and mentor junior analysts, therefore, you will lead methods of best practice and be the main point of contact for senior stakeholders from across the business.

Other areas of the role include the following:

  • Assess current operating models for Capital & impairment and forecasting across the business and identify trends/deficiencies and dependencies
  • Design and continually work on business case evaluations
  • Gather feedback and ideas and present recommendations to stakeholders and other key parties
  • Drive change and implement the agreed operating model in collaboration with Finance and Technology teams
  • Create full business/finance plans to estimate the resource costs and deliver the propositions to key stakeholders


The successful Lead Risk Modelling Analyst will have the following:

  • You will come from a traditional analytical role with the ability to model in SAS
  • Strong experience managing multiple stakeholders and peers
  • A strong technical and analytical background in Impairment Forecasting/Capital & Impairment
  • Attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively with non-technical audiences
  • Proven track record in Retail / Wholesale banking
  • A degree or higher in a numerical subject is required

SALARY AND BENEFITS - Lead Risk Modelling Analyst:

As a Lead Risk Modelling Analyst, you can expect to earn a basic salary up to £60,000 plus the following benefits; bonus, pension, healthcare, Flexible working.
