Lead Purchase Ledger Clerk


£18,000 - £20,000 per annum DOE

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Lead Purchase Ledger Clerk with an established and successful organisation based in Bath. Ambridge Harris is recruiting on behalf of our client for a Lead Purchase :Ledger role supporting existing business. Reporting to the Purchase Ledger Supervisor, you will be responsible for the more complex reconciliation & processing tasks

Banking & Purchase Ledger Duties:

  • Daily Direct Debit postings
  • Upload approved payment run files from Open Accounts in HSBCnet for all client companies
  • Management of the Integration inbox
  • Become fully conversant in all Senior Purchase Ledger tasks including & not limited to;
  • Maintenance of the Water ledgers for the company & external ledgers
  • Maintenance of lease invoice process on the client & external ledgers
  • Maintenance of the council tax accounts for the client & external ledgers
  • Maintenance of the utility ledgers for the client & external ledgers
  • Maintenance of Centaur & PDOL reconciliations
  • Daily maintenance of the Khaos / OA process
  • Dealing with opening balance tidy up from the completion accounts process
  • Ensuring initial tidy up is complete at OB stage & all issues are flushed through
  • Complete final tidy up following VA posted
  • No credit balances older than 30 days once VA finalised
  • Statement reconciliations of any of the assigned top 20 vendors for client & external
  • Ensuring all tasks are completed to a high standard of quality & the teams SLA is adhered to at all times
  • Processing inter-company invoices & clear understanding of the inter-company process
  • Receiving, coding & posting of purchase invoices with a high degree of accuracy. This includes ensuring pre-completion invoices are identified & dealt with correctly & pre-completion elements are correctly calculated.
  • Training & support to new team members, ensuring they are trained & understand all aspects of quality & the SLA requirements
  • Help create & promote a positive & supportive environment within the team
  • Willingness to pick up ad-hoc tasks as directed by the Purchase Ledger Manager/Supervisor & ensure all tasks you are responsible for are completed on time & to the correct standard
  • Willingness to cover within the Purchase Ledger department during absences
  • Completion of credit agreements, DD mandates & any other forms that Purchase Ledger may receive

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Purchase Ledger experience or similar transactional based role
  • Currently studying AAT (or similar) or completed qualification (or equivalent qualification/experience)
  • Able to work to a high degree of accuracy
  • Confident in dealing with a high volume workload
  • Clear & confident communication skills
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Ability to take the lead within the team in the absence of other senior team members
  • Be a "go-to" person for queries within the team
  • Experience of Open Accounts would be an advantage
  • Excel skills including V look ups & pivot tables
